Checking your e-mail settings (Internet Mail, Windows 95)

  1. Click on Start > Programs > Internet Mail.
  2. In the new window, click on Mail, then Options.
  3. In the new window, click on the Servers tab.
  4. In the Full Name box, your real full name should appear (i.e., John Doe).
  5. In the Account box, type your e-mail address without the @lynchburg.net (i.e., jdoe).
  6. In the SMTP and POP3 Server boxes, type your server name. The entries are both the same - mail.lynchburg.net
  7. Next, type the password assigned to your account.
  8. Tip: For your username (jdoe), e-mail address (jdoe@lynchburg.net), mail servers (mail.lynchburg.net) or password, -never- use capital letters. This will prevent you from sending and receiving your e-mail.
  9. Click OK, and then exit. You'll be ready to go.
