The America Online MythBuster

Myth 5:
AOL offers content that can't be had elsewhere.

Reality:
False

Originally, AOL had intended to offer exclusive content that couldn't be accessed anywhere else for which you would pay an extra premium. However, with the expansion of the World Wide Web, AOL's proprietary content is rendered obsolete and unnecessary. With the Web, you can find anything and everything that AOL could possibly offer and more. The Web dwarfs even the AOL behemoth in size, content, and searchability by far, and we offer you a direct connection to it.
