How to Access an Outside Line
If you are in a building where it is necessary to dial an outside line before you can dial out, this is how you set up your computer to do so. Note that these screen shots may not be identical to your setup.

  1. Load Internet Explorer to connect to the internet as you normally would.
  2. If it tries to dial automatically, hit Cancel.
  3. When you get a dialog box that says Connect To Lynchburg.net, click on Dial Properties.
  4. Where it says To Access an Outside Line, in the box labeled For Local Calls type the number or code that you need to access an outside line.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Press the Connect button to connect to the Internet.
