A. Talk to your doctor. If after you talk to your doctor, you still have concerns, then call Project Daniel. A. Information is free. The first home visit, and the initial evaluation are free. Access to the learning library (books and toys), family support, service coordination, and support activities are all available at no charge. If it is determined that services are needed by the child and desired by the family, the cost may be covered by insurance and medicaid. All fees for services are determined by an "ability to pay" sliding scale so that no child in need of services is denied because of money. A. That is fine - we are a resource for you whenever you are ready. A. No. You do not have to offer any information that you don't want to, not even your name. A. That cannot happen, because you as the parent, are the leader of the team. A plan cannot be set without your approval. A. No. Families identify their concerns and priorities as it relates to the development of their child. Individualized services are provided based on the needs and the outcome that the family wants. A. Your child is only discussed with people about whom you have given your written permission to us. The bottom line is, you decide who we talk to about your child. A. Yes, there are family meetings, parent connections, and this website that can connect you with other parents. There are also lots of families who may be further down this road than you who are very willing to share their experiences. |
