School is back in, so lets pay more attention to those big yellow buses.  Be sure you stay within the speed limits and watch what you are doing, your children are standing on the side of the road.  Remember to stop for all school buses when loading and unloading, it's the law.  They will have there red flashers on to warn traffic.  Lets have another safe year.

Halloween Safety Tips

  • Visit homes with lights on (porch or other lighting device)

  • Look both ways before crossing any road.

  • Avoid hiding near and around cars.

  • Use the sidewalk if available.

  • Wearing masks can hinder your over view of things, especially from the side.

  • Go with an adult or friends.

  • Use a flashlight or some type of warning device such as reflective tape.

  • Never go into a residence or any car…..AVOID STRANGERS.

  • Treats should be given at the door.

  • Parents should inspect candy before a child eats. DO NOT EAT OPEN/TAMPERED CANDY.

  • Let others (parents) know your plan or route to take.

  • Avoid other animals such as dogs.

  • Do not pick candy up off the ground.

BE SAFE AND HAVE FUN!

Back

Water in Road

  • Do not drive through rising water in the roadway.

  • It doesn't take much to wash your vehicle away.

EMS, Fire, and Police Roadside Safety

  • At traffic crashes watch the roadway and not the crash.

  • Look out for Police, Fire, and Rescue Personnel from all directions.

  • Slow down at traffic crash scenes and obey Police, Fire, and Rescue Personnel directing traffic.

  • Do not run over traffic flares when they are burning.  Tires can catch fire.

  • Get in the lane farthest away from police vehicles or emergency vehicles stopped on the highway or on the shoulder when as soon as you see their lights.

  • When you see emergency lights, an emergency personnel is always near.

  • We are trained to watch for you, so do your part and watch out for us.
