VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Membership Process:

The first step to take in becoming a member is to come by the MVRS Headquarters and get an application and a ride along form.  Complete the application and return it notarized along with your DMV transcript and a recent photo.  When you turn in your application, complete the ride along form and sign up for a day to ride with the duty crew. The completed application will be posted for 21 days so all members can review.  The application must be completed before it can be posted and the 21 day review process can begin.  At this time a interview will be scheduled sometime before the next business meeting.  The membership committee will begin to check all references and do a background check.  If the application is posted 21 days prior to the next business meeting, it will be reviewed by the membership committee and if recommended it will go before the crew to vote on.  (Applicants are encouraged to attend the business meeting).  If membership is accepted you will be placed on a 6 months probationary period.  When membership is accepted the crew will provide you with the available probationary equipment, such as a key and radio.  During the probationary period you are to enter and successfully complete an EMT-B class (Emergency Medical Technician - Basic). The crew will also provide additional training and advancement as an EMS provider.  If you are 21 years of age you must successfully complete an EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification) class.  After the 6 month probation is completed the crew will vote to accept or deny senior membership.  We look forward to your application and invite your membership.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the MVRS.

We are in the processes  developing an Associate Member List.  This list will include the drivers list and will better suit the needs of some of those who cannot meet the requirements of Senior Membership.  Stay tuned for more details later this month.
