LYNCHBURG CHAPTER IAAP COMMITTEES
AUDIT/FINANCE COMMITTEE
The Audit/Finance Committee audits the Chapter's financial records for the fiscal year. This committee is responsible for the formulation and presentation of the Chapter's annual operating budget. They are also responsible for stimulating and promoting interest in the Retirement Centers Foundation
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
The Communications Committee conveys announcements, messages and other information necessary to keep the membership informed of monthly meetings and other affairs of the Chapter.
COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE
The Community Services Committee leads the Chapter’s activities in the field of service to the community, cooperating with non-profit and non-political community service organizations to aid them in their efforts to provide education and assistance to area citizens. Examples of projects include sponsoring a needy child at Christmas, volunteering at the Daily Bread and making telephone calls or providing typing assistance for charitable organizations.
EDUCATION/SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
The Education/Scholarship Committee provides the membership with current educational information and offers opportunities for members to improve their professional performance. The Education/Scholarship Committee promotes CPS/CAP certification by encouraging members to obtain certification and by planning study groups to accomplish this. This committee also coordinates the scholarship program in which the Lynchburg Chapter IAAP awards a scholarship to a student who is looking to enter or is currently majoring in the administrative field.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
The Membership Committee seeks to build and retain membership through practical and creative means. This committee plans one IMPACT meeting each year, creates a membership booth for the annual seminar and oversees the mentoring program.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE
The Nominating Committee prepares a slate of officers for the following year as outlined in the Chapter's Standing Rules and Procedures.
PARLIAMENTARY ADVISOR/BYLAWS &
STANDING RULES COMMITTEE
The Parliamentary Advisor/Bylaws committee ensures that all meetings are conducted according to Robert's Rules of Order. This committee performs an annual review of the Bylaws and Standing Rules of Procedure to assure that they are adapted to the particular needs of the Chapter and conform to International and Division Bylaws and Standing Rules of Procedures.

SEMINAR COMMITTEE
The Seminar Committee plans the annual educational seminar. This committee is a combination of sub-committees, each headed by a chairman. All members are assigned to one of these sub-committees which makes the Seminar Committee the only committee that includes the entire chapter. This committee's duties include securing and handling arrangements for the speaker, preparing the program outline, conducting meetings of seminar chairmen, coordinating all activities surrounding the seminar, etc.
SPEAKER'S BUREAU COMMITTEE
The Speakers' Bureau Committee provides speakers to area schools, colleges and businesses making a request in an effort to inform the public about the opportunities, obligations and importance of the administrative field. This committee also extends a written offer to local schools and colleges at the beginning of each school year and makes necessary arrangements to fulfill the speaking engagements.
SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
The Special Celebrations Committee plans three celebration events a year: Administrative Professionals Week, Executive's Night, and the Annual Social. These events provide an informal time of fellowship and recognition.
STUDENT CHAPTER COMMITTEE
The Student Chapter Committee serves as a liaison between the local student IAAP chapters and the Lynchburg Chapter IAAP. This committee provides assistance, advice, mentoring and encouragement to both advisors and students.
WAYS & MEANS COMMITTEE
The Ways and Means Committee serves to increase the funds of the chapter as projected in the annual budget.
