The next major version of Daleks! will really be two games in one - the
well-known and "classic" version and a new (and "cruddy"?) version of my own
diabolical design.
For the amusement of all, and to offend the purists, I'm sharing the
tentative design details. This won't be written
until late April, so there's plenty
of time to gather ideas. Here are the additions I've been
thinking about:
- Black Daleks
These models will have enough intelligence to avoid rubble piles,
and usually will have to be destroyed with the sonic screwdriver.
Actually, there could be several Dalek models. But what would be the
differences between them?
- Davros
The prune-headed guy who started it all will appear on certain
levels. He will be able to turn rubbled Daleks into new Dalek models -
not pursuing the player but making his life miserable.
- Tool Kit
Obviously, with intelligent enemies, more screwdrivers will be needed.
Tool Kits will appear randomly for the player to pick up. Each Tool
Kit could contain several screwdrivers.
- TARDIS Instruction Manual
When picked up, the Manual will provide a new mode of transport - the player
will be able to specify an exact destination when teleporting! This will be
limited to only one or two uses per Manual, after which the Time Lords will
swoop in and erase the Doctor's memory again. (This exciting and impressive
animation sequence will appear just off-screen).
- Jelly Babies
Or the Blue Crystals of Metabelus (sp). Or something. Gives the
player bonus points.
Those are the tentative plans. Any thoughts?
