Historic Houses for only $1 Each

These houses are being offered in a sort of "homesteading" type of program. None are in a National Historic District, but the owner can apply to have them put in a local historic district. That would provide the same benefits/restrictions to the restorer/renovator as living in a Historic District. The houses' conditions are described in the following pages. The neighborhood is full of very large old houses. Some of these are apartment houses, many are single family. The neighborhood is largely lower income/retired. The houses offered for $1 must be owner occupied, and the new owner must own the house for 5 years before reselling. Other covenants may apply.
