Habitat for Humanity
Mary Adams
Dear Mary,
I am writing to you to express our association’s enthusiastic thanks for the work being done on the 1100 block of Polk St. We are especially grateful that Habity for Humanity has done restorations instead of demolition then new construction on two of the properties. We understand that this requires more from Habitat and from the volunteers and we appreciate this. Now that you are continuing with more "re-habitats" on Federal St., we are even more excited about the important part that Habitat for Humanity will be playing in the restoration of the fabric of our historic neighborhoods. Lynchburg has a wealth of historic houses that are avaialable for restoration, and we encourage you to continue with even more "re-habits". Our association is not financially capable of supporting a project house, but I do hope that you give my name and phone number (592-6764, day) to the volunteer coordinators of each of the "re-habitat" houses. I am currently working on a program in our neighborhood where we will help on project houses.
Thanks again for your organization’s positive contributions to our neighborhood.
Very truly yours
Tom Hughes
