JAIL OPERATIONS

The Amherst County Sheriff's Office operates a 100-person jail. Under the supervision of Lt. L. T. Wright and Sgt. LM Brizindine, the corrections staff not only maintains 24-hour security, but operates a successful work-release program, R.A.I.D. diversion program, community service program, home electronic monitoring, courtroom and judicial security, and inmate transportation.
