FIELD OPERATIONS

24 Hour Patrol

Lieutenant MG Robinson supervises the field operations division. This section of the Sheriff's office maintains 24-hour patrol throughout the county. Field supervisors reporting to the Lieutenant are Sgt. T. W. Farrar and Sgt. S.L. Angus. Each of these Sergeants supervises a shift of five. Each of these shifts work on a rotating basis to maintain 24-hour coverage.


CANINE UNIT

Canine Unit, ASSAN, a three-year old German Shepherd, and his handler, Deputy D. D. Givens are available for assignments within the County. Assan is trained in narcotics detection, tracking and patrol operations. Assan is the County’s first canine and was obtained from the K-9 training facility in Dyer, Indiana.

Special Response Team (SRT)

The Special Response Team operates under the direction of Lieutenant Robinson and is available for call out when needed for special enforcement situations and search warrant executions. The team is specially trained in high risk arrest warrant service, search warrant execution, building entry and search and other special enforcement situations.
